Anjali Agarwal is a development professional with 10+ years of experience working across livelihoods, social protection, governance, sustainability, and women’s economic empowerment programmes in India. Her work has largely focused on partnering with government systems, community institutions, and development organisations to design and implement scalable and sustainable solutions across rural contexts. Her experience spans Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal.

She currently serves as Senior Manager and is part of the PMU supporting the Labour Department, Government of Chhattisgarh. Her work involves programme design, policy implementation support, stakeholder management, technology-enabled service delivery, and system strengthening across labour welfare and social security initiatives.

She leads initiatives such as the Model ESIS Dispensary Pilot to strengthen healthcare delivery systems; API integration with ESIC for state-level monitoring; development of an insured-person reimbursement-tracking module; and implementation support for the Atal Utkrisht Shiksha Yojana (AUSY), including school onboarding, counselling processes, and digital systems. She also supports the design of new livelihood initiatives, including an EV-based delivery person scheme.

Prior to this, she worked extensively with NRLM institutions, women’s collectives, farmer-producer organisations, and local governments on programmes in livelihoods, institution-building, waste management, and capacity-building. Her key achievements include mobilising over 5,000 women into community institutions, supporting livelihood opportunities for more than 1,500 farmers, and establishing the first solid waste management system across remote villages in the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary landscape in Uttarakhand.
