Sonali Chakravorty is a development professional with 6+ years of experience working at the intersection of public policy, rural livelihoods, government advisory, and programme monitoring & evaluation. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and is currently working as Lead – Operations, Right to Livelihoods (RTL), where she leads and supports the implementation of welfare programmes related to Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) and Unorganised Workers (UOW) schemes with the Labour Department, Government of Chhattisgarh.

Previously, she has worked with organizations such as Invest India, TechnoServe, Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC), and Haryana State Rural Livelihoods Mission, supporting large-scale government and development initiatives. Her expertise lies in project implementation, monitoring, data analysis, research, and multi-stakeholder engagement. At Project Monitoring Group – Invest India, she worked with central ministries, state governments, and implementing agencies (both government & private) to monitor infrastructure projects, analyse implementation bottlenecks, and support evidence-based decision-making at the level of the Cabinet Secretariat, Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), and the Ministry of Commerce & Industry. At TechnoServe, she strengthened data collection and validation systems, developed dashboards, analysed field-level data, and supported donor reporting, budget tracking, and programme performance monitoring.

Her grassroots experience spans rural livelihoods, women’s empowerment, SHG-based initiatives, and community engagement through roles with Haryana State Rural Livelihoods Mission and multiple field-based research assignments. Having worked across diverse geographies including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, and Delhi, she brings a strong understanding of local contexts, government systems, and implementation challenges.

She is passionate about leveraging data, research, and collaborative partnerships to strengthen public systems, improve programme effectiveness, and create sustainable impact at scale.
