Violet Duttson is a development practitioner with experience across education, livelihoods, research, and government systems strengthening. She holds a postgraduate degree from TISS, Guwahati, and has worked extensively in Assam and Bihar, supporting programmes in education, community engagement, qualitative research, and public policy implementation.

Her professional journey includes serving as a Gandhi Fellow with the Piramal Foundation in an Aspirational District of Bihar, where she contributed to district convergence initiatives and to strengthening the education system. At Room to Read, she co-developed monitoring tools for academic support and worked closely with teachers and government officials to improve early grade learning outcomes.

Currently, she works as an independent consultant in education and research. Her recent assignments include leading qualitative research for the Social Return on Investment (SROI) assessment of Oil India Limited’s CSR initiatives and supporting evidence generation, documentation, and stakeholder engagement processes.

Her areas of expertise include qualitative research, training and facilitation, stakeholder management, programme implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and technical documentation. She has experience conducting interviews, focus group discussions, and field studies, and translating community insights into actionable recommendations for programmes and policy. She is particularly interested in strengthening public systems and designing people-centred interventions that bridge policy intent with implementation realities.
