Vishwajit Shivshankar Kale is an Executive with the RTL team at Indus Action, working to strengthen access to labour welfare schemes for unorganised workers in Chhattisgarh. His work focuses on action research, secondary research, stakeholder engagement, field coordination, digital data collection, and evidence-based decision-making to improve the effectiveness of government welfare initiatives.

Currently, he primarily works on the Agency Fund Action Research Project, which aims to enhance the livelihoods of domestic workers through skill development. His responsibilities include conducting secondary research and literature reviews, supporting field research, designing and implementing surveys, digital data collection using SurveyCTO, data analysis, stakeholder coordination, and documentation to generate evidence for programme and policy improvements.

He also supports the Maternity project for a Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT), which focuses on behaviour change communication (BCC) interventions to improve awareness on nutrition and health among women construction workers. His role includes supporting survey design, implementing digital surveys in SurveyCTO, managing field teams, coordinating with stakeholders, and documenting.

Prior to joining Indus Action, he worked as a Gandhi Fellow with the Piramal Foundation in support of the Andhra Pradesh School Leadership Development Programme, where he worked with education departments and supported programme implementation, stakeholder engagement, training facilitation, impact analysis, data analysis, and documentation. His professional interests lie in public policy, labour rights, social protection, and evidence-based programme implementation, with a commitment to using research to strengthen public systems and improve outcomes for underserved communities.
